FAQ

What are the advantages of mcn?

Using mcn will save you lots of money! They are easy to use; they work well, are kind on the environment and look fab! They are also soft and comfy for precious bums.

Why would I choose Nudey!Rudey! mcns?

When you buy a N!R! product you know you are buying a 100% New Zealand designed and manufactured product. There are over 30 different sizes in the same nappy. They come in lots of gorgeous colours, are beautifully made and the workmanship is guaranteed. They fit snugly and are soft and gentle on your bundle's bum. The lining wicks liquid through leaving a dry layer next to the skin, the outer layer is waterproof and breathable, making nappy rash unlikely. Additionally only the highest quality materials are used to make N!R! products.

How many will I need?

To wash every 1-2 days it is recommended that you purchase 12 nappies and 12+ inserts. The nappy comes out of the spin cycle almost dry and hte inserts will dry overnight. Nappies and inserts dry very quickly in a cool dryer.

Can I use them overnight?

Definitely, just double up your inserts, or for best results use microfibre and hemp inserts together. Microfibre absorbs quickly, hemp is slower to absorb but holds more for longer-a perfect combination.

Can I start to use my nappies as soon as they arrive?

Please wash the nappies and inserts prior to use. Hemp inserts require several hot washes before they become effectively absorbant.

My nappies are leaking. What am I doing wrong?

Nappies leak for three reasons.

1. The inserts are sopping wet and excess liquid is coming out the sides.

Solution: Add more inserts

2. The inserts are mostly dry and liquid is coming out the sides

Solution: Adjust the fit. The nappy must be snug, particularly around the legs. Please see the fitting post.

3. They've worked well for months and are suddenly leaking

Solution: There is a build up of cream or detergent. Strip them (see Stripping, below)

I'm worried about bacteria etc. How can I pimp my washing routine?

Add Canesten Laundry Liquid or Dettol Laundry Liquid to kill viruses and bacteria in the nappies

What are liners?

You can use biodegradable (flushable) paper liners or reuseable cloth liners. The advantage is that there's less mess and less wear on the nappies. It is strongly advised to use liners when you use creams to avaoid the creams bulding up on the nappies.

What is 'stripping'?

Stripping in mcn circles refers to washing the nappies with the express purpose of getting rid of any detergent or creams build up on the nappies. Wash the nappies with no soap. Wash again using 1/2 cup of baking soda and white vinegar in the rinse cycle.

My nappies have been so great for months and suddenly I'm getting leaks, what's going on?

Your nappies may have a build up, strip them(see above) Your baby may have grown, or slimmed down due to crawling/walking. Readjust the fit.
